DIY Rustic Pendant Lantern Light

When it was time for us to choose the light for our kitchen, I knew I wanted something unique and not store bought but I also didn't want it to be expensive. I wanted the rustic lantern look but the ones that I like, I didn't like the price. So I knew I had to be creative. Here are my inspiration for this project:

None of these lights cost less than $300 and I wasn't willing to spend that much. So in to IKEA we go and found these pretty lanterns. 

Drilled a hole at the top just enough to pull the cord through from this pendant lamp kit also from IKEA. 

And we used black chains to hang them in the ceiling.

Also bought these old school bulbs from Home Depot to give it a more vintage rustic vibe. 

And voila! 

Look how marvelous they are!
